A Theme for 2014

I'm not one for resolutions, but I am one for intention-setting, and more recently, for giving each year a 'theme' connected to some kind of action I want to take or change I want to see.

At the start of 2013 I set an intention to step towards and embrace fear. I'd noticed that all too often anxieties and fear held me back from having the life and business I truly wanted. My theme for 2013: 'Stepping into Fear', involved me getting really conscious (and curious) about the times I was holding back from doing something or being someone because I was afraid of what it would take, what would happen, what people would think, or who it would mean I'd have to be.

Each time I recognised fear was present, I challenged myself not to shy away with the age old excuses, but to step towards and into that fear. The results have been tremendous, empowering, freeing, energising - an intention, and a habit which I will carry into 2014.

Continuing the theme of confronting fear: for 2014, I want to focus on embracing and understanding on an even deeper level who I am and what I have to offer the world.

My theme for 2014? 'Stepping into my power'.

Excitingly, I don't know how that's going to shape up just now. I shall let you know what I discover as the year goes on.

So: some Questions, and a Call to Action for You:

What's your theme for 2014?

Step #1. What intention do you want to set for yourself in 2014 which will help you move on, grow, develop, become more of the person you'd like to be? How would you like things to be different?

Step #2. What action do you need to take to achieve that intention?

Step #3. Give your intention and related action an overarching theme.

Step #4. Tell your coach, accountability partner or a close friend what you've committed to and ask them to remind you of your theme often.

Step #5. Stick your theme up somewhere you can see it, and let the magical power of intention unfold!

Have fun with it, and I look forward to hearing how 2014 develops for you.

Kate.
