Before transitioning to working as a coach and running my own business, I spent ten years working as a project manager and trainer for international and UK based development organisations - in Uganda, Sierra Leone, Devon, the Scottish Hebrides, Vietnam, and the Dominican Republic. I absolutely loved this work, it helped feed my curiosity about the world and opened my eyes to the complexities of development.

It also gave me a strong desire to support people working in the international sector. I learnt from personal experience that life, as well as being exciting and meaningful, can also be tiring and stressful. I had my own experience of the pressure and isolation facing senior managers in not for profit organisations, I also learnt about the challenges one faces as an expatriate moving from place to place, starting over each time and juggling my partners' career aspirations with my own.

I noticed too many good people leaving the sector prematurely or under-performing due to a perceived, and real, lack of personal and professional support. Others I knew felt isolated, frustrated and stuck.

Coaching is the best way I know to build people's resilience - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - key to keeping people healthy, happy and successful in their chosen career. Having been in their shoes, I'm able to understand the idiosyncrasies of the sector and the challenges my clients are facing.

I am an Associate Accredited Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and an Advanced Graduate of Coach U - the world-leading coach training institute - with whom I trained for four years.
